Facial Mask

Getting a facial mask can be very expensive, so why not make your own? Here are instructions on how to make different types of masks to moisturize and soften the skin.

Mask for Treating Acne and Blemishes

Ingredients

3 drops of chamomile oil
2 tablespoons of plain yogurt
4 drops of geranium oil
2 drops of sandalwood oil
2 tablespoons of soya oil
1 inch slice of banana

Step 1

Mash the banana in a bowl. Pour in the soya oil. Stir gently.

Step 2

Add the yogurt into the mix. Mix the ingredients using a fork.

Step 3

Put a lid on the bowl. Store it in the fridge for 5 minutes.

Step 4

Get the bowl. Add the sandalwood, chamomile and geranium oils. Fold
the mix slowly. Do not over mix. You only need to ensure the oils are distributed evenly throughout.

Step 5

Massage the mask on your face.

Step 6

Leave the mask on your face for 15 minutes. Use a damp cloth to get rid of the mask. Wash your face with water.

How to Make a Skin Tightening Facial Mask

Ingredients

1 tablespoon of groundnut oil
2 tablespoons glycerin
2 egg whites
1 tsp vinegar
5 tablespoons of apple juice
3/4 cup of yogurt
1 tablespoon of apple cider

Step 1

Pour the yogurt in a bowl. Add the apple cider vinegar, apple juice and groundnut oil. Mix slowly.

Step 2

Place the mixture in the fridge. Damp a towel in hot water. Put the towel on your face for ten minutes. This is going to loosen the pores.

Step 3

Get the mixture and put in the egg whites and glycerin. Apply this on your upper neck and your face.

Step 4

Let the mask dry for 15 minutes or longer. Don’t keep it on longer than 40 minutes.

Step 5

Wash the mask off using warm water. Splash some cold water on the face and neck.

Skin Softening Mask

Ingredients

3 tsp lotion
Towel
1/2 teaspoon honey
1 egg white
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1 tsp oatmeal (un-cooked)
1/8 teaspoon citrus juice

Step 1

Combine all these ingredients in a bowl. Mix them well.

Step 2

Apply this mixture on your face. You can fan your face until it doesn’t feel cold anymore.

Step 3

Wash your face with lukewarm water Scrub your face with a tsp of sugar.

Step 4

Dampen a towel with hot water. Place the over your face. Keep the towel there until your face feels cool. Immerse your face in cold water. Towel your face.

Mask for Oily Skin

Ingredients

2 tablespoons of ground oatmeal
1/2 teaspoon of sage
1 tablespoon of French clay powder
1/2 teaspoon of parsley
1/4 cup of water
1/4 lemon
1 egg white

Step 1

Add parsley and sage in a bowl of hot water. Stir until it attains room temperature.

Step 2

Put the egg whites in the mix.

Step 3

Mix the French clay and oatmeal in another bowl. Add the lemon.

Step 4

Combine the mixture and apply to the face.

These facial masks are very simple to make and can improve your skin tone significantly. For the best results, you should apply these treatments once a week.
